Chicago based Producer Director Educator

Veronica Barbosa is a Latina producer, director, and educator based in Chicago’s South Side. Raised in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, she is passionate about storytelling that centers on underrepresented and marginalized voices.

She works across short films, feature films, and commercials, balancing creative vision with logistics through a background in bookkeeping and accounting. She has also helped bring films to premiere at SXSW, the Chicago International Film Festival, and Fantasia.

In addition to her filmmaking work, Veronica teaches Creative Producing at DePaul University, video production to high school students, and guest lectures at Northwestern University’s Film Department. She is deeply committed to mentoring emerging filmmakers and fostering new voices in the industry.

Outside of film, she enjoys baseball, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her two cats, Ginny and Togo.
